FAQs
How is my brand delivered?
Everything lives in one Figma link. Your brand toolkit holds every asset: logos, colours, typography and visual language. Your brand guidelines are laid out as a clear, sectioned presentation. And our best-practice templates (social posts, LinkedIn banners, website hero and more) are ready for your team to edit and use from day one. It’s organised so anyone, designer or not, can find what they need, and you own the file outright at handover.
Who do you work with?
We specialise in early-stage tech startups, typically from pre-seed to Series A, across fintech, payments, AI, defence, insurtech, proptech and healthtech. Clients include Kazam, Five, Penny, Juma, Meshed and Aurem, and we’ve also worked directly with Gopuff and Ticketmaster and on multiple projects for Apple. We work globally, across the UK, Europe, the US and Australia. If you’re outside our niche, we’re still happy to talk, and we’ll tell you honestly whether we’re the right fit.
What makes Good Habit different?
We bring the craft of global tech brands to founders at the earliest stage. We’re a small, senior studio led by founder Chris Smyth, and we never take on more than two projects at once, so you work directly with the people doing the work. As AI makes more brands look the same, we focus on making yours distinctive and memorable, because being remembered is what drives growth. Founders we’ve worked with have raised over $45M, Kazam was acquired by Gopuff for £120M, our work has won 9 branding awards, and every founder who’s reviewed us on Clutch has given us five stars.
How much does a brand project cost?
Our brand packages start from £20,000 (ex VAT). You can build yours and see the exact price with our pricing calculator. Launch (from £20,000, 4 weeks): Your brand essentials: discovery and big idea, brand platform, logo, colour palette, typography, visual language and a Figma brand toolkit. Growth (from £30,000, 8 weeks): Everything in Launch, plus tone of voice guidelines, key messaging, photography art direction, and editable templates for social, LinkedIn and your website hero. Scale (from £40,000, 10 weeks): Everything in Growth, plus more time to explore and refine the design, fine-tuning across brand applications, and motion exploration, which may include logo animation. Optional extras include naming (£5,000) and a pitch deck template (£2,500). Any project can be fast-tracked for an additional 25%.
Do you design websites?
Yes. Every site is designed and built in Framer, fully responsive and easy for your team to edit. Add a landing page (+£10,000), a marketing site of around five pages with a blog (+£20,000), or an advanced site with 10+ pages, CMS, integrations or rich motion and in-house copy (+£30,000). Adding a website doesn’t extend your timeline.
Do you only do brands?
Brand and website are our focus, alongside naming and templates for social, LinkedIn and pitch decks. We don’t design full apps or digital products, but we often bring your identity into a few key app screens, so you can see how it carries through to your product and hand clear direction to your product team.
What’s your process?
Every project follows three stages. In Discover, we define your purpose, positioning and personality through our discovery questionnaire, then shape your brand platform and a big idea that guides every decision. In Design, we present two or more creative routes side by side, then refine your chosen direction. We don’t count revision rounds: feedback is unlimited within your timeline. In Deliver, you receive everything in one Figma link, ready to launch.
How do you communicate during projects?
Everything runs through Basecamp, which keeps every message, file and update in one place. At the end of each week, usually on a Thursday or Friday, we share progress through a Loom walkthrough or a live call on Zoom or Google Meet, scheduled around your time zone. Because projects are short and focused, we ask for feedback within 24 to 48 hours.
Who will we work with?
Chris Smyth, our founder and creative director, leads every project personally and is hands-on with the design from start to finish, alongside designer James. When a project needs it, we occasionally bring in trusted specialists, such as an experienced fintech copywriter, illustrators or developers, and we’ll always ask for your approval first.
How do you use AI?
We use AI to move faster, not to make the decisions that make a brand distinctive. It speeds up research, early concept exploration, art direction (using tools like Midjourney) and early checks on name and domain availability. The strategy, creative choices and final craft are always ours. We also build AI-powered visual tools for clients, so their teams can create on-brand content long after launch.
How does billing work?
Projects are paid in three stages: 50% upfront to lock in your start date, 25% at the midpoint and 25% on delivery. Ongoing work is billed monthly in advance. All prices are ex VAT, and stock imagery, font licences and specialist illustration are budgeted separately.
What do you need to get started?
A short discovery call, then a proposal tailored to your package. Once terms are signed and the 50% deposit is paid, your start date is locked in, we send our discovery questionnaire and we kick off straight away.
Can you support us after launch?
Yes. Most clients keep working with us through a monthly retainer or ad hoc work at a day rate, for campaigns, new pages or launches. And because everything is delivered in one Figma file with templates, your team can create on-brand work without us. Contact us to talk through what would suit you.
